Regulation Authority:

Title 20, Chapters 42-17.1, 42-17.6, and 42-17.7, and in accordance with Chapter 42-35-18(b)(5), Administrative Procedures Act of the Rhode Island General Laws of 1956, as amended.

Purpose and Reason:

1a. Commercial Summer flounder: • Proposal 1: Annual solicitation of management options. 2 options offered for consideration to meet 30% reduction in quota. Combination of options offered selected as final regulation as recommended by the RI Marine Fisheries Council and Director • Proposal 2: Industry proposal to remove eligibility requirement to participate in the Summer Flounder Aggregate program for the summer sub-period. Did not go forward with proposal offered 1b. Commercial Scup: Remain at status quo - no changes 1c. Commercial Black Sea bass: Amend starting possession limit of 1,000 lbs to 750 lbs. No other changes 1d. Commercial Coastal sharks: Adopted as proposed.
